Thank you to all of you who supported me in the November 5 election. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your confidence in the job I am doing as part of the Milford school board. Thank you also for simply coming out to vote. This election had a very low turnout, likely due to the lack of “hot issues” on the ballot.
As you know, I officially (i.e., legally) partnered with Gary Knepp, and unofficially we also partnered with Dave Yockey. I am thrilled to say the three of us will be working together for the next term. Gary, Dave and I each have a strong, individual personality with very different skills: Dave Yockey has worked in curriculum the majority of his career; Gary Knepp is a problem-solving attorney; and my background is marketing/communication and business financial analysis. It’s this kind of mix of skills and knowledge, in combination with the skills and knowledge sitting board members also contribute, that helps support the business the district undertakes every day.
It was a long campaign season, but we are proud of the campaign we ran: we focused on issues of concern to the entire Milford community, looking forward to where we are going and what needs to be done, what is going to help the district the most in the upcoming four-year term. We believe a good campaign presents what candidates can bring to the table, and we focused on that through an information and issues-focused website, blog articles (many posted on this site), walking door-to-door, talking with people in a variety of places, and much more.
Once again, thank you for your support of and faith in me. I will work hard to continue to represent you and support Milford schools and our community. As always, if you have questions or comments, feel free to get in touch!
