Athletic Update February 2014

As the Eagles Winter Season winds down, the postseason has seen some impressive results!  Spring Sports have been conditioning as teams prepare for the upcoming season.

In Boys Basketball, the Eagles (7-5 ECC, 12-10 overall) recently defeated #1 ranked Walnut Hills!  Trevor Bullock leads the ECC in rebounds and is 2nd in the ECC for blocks!  In postseason action, the Eagles will take on Oak Hills this Sat. at 6:30 at Hamilton!  The Girls Basketball team, (6-6 ECC, 14-10 overall) defeated Turpin in round 1 of postseason action but were defeated by #6 Mercy Tuesday night.  Brooke McDonald is ranked #4 in the ECC for scoring and blocks with Bridget Rheude and Kelly Noll leading in assists.

In Eagle’s Wrestling, congratulations go to Jack Noll and Jake Ashcraft who finished 2nd and 3rd at Sectionals last weekend earning them a spot at Districts this weekend.  They’ll compete for a spot at State.

Milford’s Swim season came to an end at Districts at Miami University last weekend.  Season best times in relays, as well as senior Alex Hahn in the 100 butterfly, were posted.  For the Girls’, both relay squads, as well as Senior Carolyn Storch, posted season-best times.

Milford’s Boys Bowling team (6-6 ECC, 11-9 overall) competed yesterday in the postseason at Crossgate Lanes.  The Girls Bowling team, (7-5 ECC, 12-8 overall) finished 3rd in the ECC. They competed today in postseason at Crossgate Lanes with Racheal Mitchell and Brandi Norman qualifying for Districts next week!

The Academic Quiz team finished tied for 4th in ECC and looks ahead to the league tournament at Little Miami next Wednesday.

Cheer and Dance competition squads both recently posted wins at their respective national competitions with Cheer qualifying for the Ohio State Competition in Columbus!
