Athletic Update Sept. 18, 2014

Girls Golf: For the third consecutive season, the Milford High School girl’s golf team has captured the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament Championship, as the Eagles bested the five-team field on Monday at Bel-Wood Country Club. Milford, which is 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the league, finishes the dual portion of its ECC schedule hosting Kings and looks to wrap up the overall ECC Championship next Tuesday. Megan Creager increased her medalist total to 12 for the season while helping the Eagles remain undefeated in dual play.

Football: The Eagles improved their overall record to 2-1 with an impressive 48-12 victory over Shroder. The team opens Eastern Cincinnati Conference play this Friday, 7:00, at Withrow High School. Drew Ashcraft has been nominated for this week’s Ohio National Guard Cincinnati High School Player of the Week.

Girls Tennis: Varsity tennis player Amanda Reinhart, a freshman, won the first singles title in Flight B of the Greater Cincinnati Coaches Classic.  She defeated the prior sectionals champion from Lakota West, helping the team to a third place finish.

Soccer: The Milford High School boys and girls soccer teams will host a full day of soccer action, along with collections to benefits those in need during SoccerFest coming up on Saturday, Sept. 20. Several bins will be available inside Charity J. Lucas Stadium on Milford’s campus, with donations of gently used soccer equipment, along with macaroni and cheese and spaghetti and spaghetti sauce being accepted.
