Athletic Update 10/19/17
With a 7 and 1 record, the Football team has secured their first winning season since 2000 and is in contention for both an ECC Championship and an OHSAA Playoff berth! The team is 7-1 for the first time since 1986 and a recent victory at Loveland marked the return of the Victory Bell. Milford travels to undefeated Anderson this Friday for a game that will have huge implications for the league title and playoff points!
The Boys and Girls Soccer teams have both advanced in the postseason. Girls soccer won their first OHSAA tournament game and they are playing at Anderson tonight. Boys soccer won their first game as well, and will host Little Miami this Saturday night at 7:00 pm in Eagle Stadium.
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams will be competing at OHSAA Districts this weekend, racing at the Voice of America Park in West Chester.
Congrats to Justin Horn of the Boys Golf team who advanced to the OHSAA District Tournament and just missed qualifying for the State Tournament by a single stroke!
Congrats to Senior Lisa Sullivan of the Girls Volleyball team who surpassed 1,000 career “kills” during her Milford volleyball career ending with 1,152 total. Sullivan has committed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to continue her academic and athletic career.
Athletic Update 9/21/17
The Football team is off to a great start with a 3-1 record and tied at the top of the ECC. Milford defeated Turpin last week for the first time since 2000. The team was voted Team of the Week from the Cincinnati Enquirer earlier this month, and Blake King and Bryce Dugan have been nominated for a number of awards so far this season. Milford plays at Loveland this Friday.
The Boys and Girls Soccer teams will hold SoccerFest this Saturday, September 23rd. Donations of items to stock the Milford Miami Ministry Food Bank will be accepted, including pasta, sauce or any other non-perishable food items. All soccer teams are in action, beginning at 9 a.m., with the varsity girls at 5 p.m. and varsity boys at 7 p.m.
Boys and Girls Cross Country hosted about 1400 runners from 45 different high schools and junior highs at the Milford Invitational last Saturday. Thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped the meet go very well. Clayton Virzi is ranked 2nd and Olivia Loeffler is 11th in the ECC.
The Girls Volleyball team will hold “Volley for A Cause” this Saturday, September 23rd during the matches with Princeton beginning at 10 am. The event will raise money for “Feed our Flock,” a mobile food pantry program that was created to help teens access food in a convenient and private way. These pantries will be placed in the Junior and Senior High Schools. All proceeds will be used to purchase the mobile food pantries and food to fill them.
Athletic Update 8/17/17
The Football Team will scrimmage Mt. Healthy tonight. The season opener is part of the 20th anniversary of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown, and will now be played at Oak Hills on Friday, August 25th. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Nippert Stadium at the University of Cincinnati, but the move was necessary due to NCAA rules that no longer allow high school football games to be played on FBS college campuses during the month of August.
The Golf season is underway and the Girls Golf squad opened conference play with a 181-189 win over Turpin!
Girls Tennis opened their season this week and their first home match is scheduled for Thursday, August 24th hosting Walnut Hills.
The Water Polo teams had a competitive weekend of water polo at the Napoleon tournament last weekend. Next weekend, the girls travel to Princeton and the boys to Mason.
Boys Soccer will kick off their season on their home field tomorrow, Friday, August 18th at 7:00 pm. The Eagles will host Little Miami.
The Girls Soccer team also opens the season tomorrow at Lebanon at 5:00 pm.
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams will travel to Voice of America Park on Saturday August 26th for the Lakota East Invitational.
Girls Volleyball will open their season this Saturday, August 19th, hosting Talawanda at 12:00 pm.
Athletic Update 6/15/17
The Boys Lacrosse team was recognized for earning the first League title in school history – and this was as a first-year school-sponsored program! Sophomore Andrea Armstrong was also recognized for qualifying for State in Track. Next update to come when school is back in session.
Athletic Update 5/18/17
The Softball team won the OHSAA Sectional Championship and will face Lakota West on Friday at Hamilton High School in the District Finals. The 4-time ECC Champion Eagles are currently ranked #3 in the state with an overall record of 25-2!
Baseball faced #1 Moeller earlier today in the Sectional Finals of the OHSAA baseball tournament. The Eagles are 19-10 overall and have won 7 of their last 9 games.
The Boys Lacrosse team won a share of the first-ever ECC Championship! Milford then soundly defeated Oak Hills 17-2 last night in OHSAA tournament play. The boys will next host Loveland on Friday night at Eagle Stadium at 7 pm.
Andrea Armstrong, Dustin Reynolds and Manny Fernandez all finished in the top 3 of their events at the ECC Track and Field Championships. All three also earned spots in the OHSAA District Finals on Friday at Mason with a trip to the regional track meet next week in Dayton on the line. Andrea is also closing in on several school records including the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the long jump.
Boys Volleyball will host Fairfield High School on Monday in the first round of the OHSBVA State tournament. First serve at 5 pm!
Athletic Update 4/20/17
The Competition Cheer Squad captured the title of National Champions at the AmeriCheer 2017 InterNational competition held in Orlando! They competed in the varsity non-mount traditional division and won the competition with a combined score of over 95%!
The Boys Lacrosse team is off to a great start at 8-2 overall. The Eagles will host Moeller this Friday at 7:30 pm. The Girls Lacrosse team recorded their first win in program history after defeating Miamisburg then went on to defeat CHCA the following week.
Milford’s Girls Track and Field Team won the New Richmond Invitational last week! Manny Fernandez from the Boys Track and Field Team is nominated this week for the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Top Track and Field Athlete of the Week. The Milford Invitational home meet is next Wednesday, April 26, beginning at 4 pm.
Holden Owens, who plays first singles on the Boys Tennis team is currently 7 and 2. The team is 6-3 overall and will play at the GCTCA Tournament next week.
Boys Volleyball is off to a strong start with a 6 and 1 record and is undefeated against ECC teams.
The Baseball Team currently has a six-game win streak going and will host the Milford Baseball Alumni Game this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Milford’s Softball Team is 14 and 1 overall and is undefeated in the ECC. Senior pitcher Valerie Thompson was recently named the LaRosa’s MVP of the Week!
Athletic Update 3/16/17
The Competition Cheer Squad left today for Florida to participate in the AmeriCheer 2017 InterNational Championships! They will compete Friday and Saturday at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
Spring sports are beginning competition! Lacrosse enters its first season as a state and school sponsored sport for both boys and girls and opens games next week. Track and Field and Boys Tennis will start competition later this month, while Boys Volleyball begins matches in early April.
The Baseball Team will open their season against LaSalle at UC Stadium on March 25, a re-match of last year’s OHSAA Regional Final. Both Milford baseball and Softball Teams were selected to compete in the Skyline Chili Reds Futures High School Showcase. Softball will play April 1 at Roselawn Reds Urban Youth Academy and baseball will play on April 5 at Midland.
Athletic Update 2/16/17
The Girls Bowling team recorded the first bowling conference championship in Milford history! The girls were 11-1 in ECC and 16-1 overall. The Boys Bowling team came in third place in the ECC. Several bowling records were broken by both teams this year. The OHSAA bowling tournament begins next week.
The Wrestling Team won the Milford Invitational Tournament and placed fourth overall at the ECC championship meet. Jimmy Murphy won his second ECC championship in the 132 weight class and Kobey Bronaugh won a league title in the 113 weight class.
Tyler Babinec was named Enquirer Swimmer of the Week last month and won two events at the OHSAA Sectional Meet last weekend. In all, 5 relays and 7 individuals for Boys and Girls Swimming qualified for Districts at Miami University this Saturday!
The Competition Cheer Squad won the 2017 ECC Championship for the second year in a row! Milford’s Dance Team placed second overall among all conference dance teams. Congrats on their outstanding performances!
The Girls Basketball Team will face Oak Hills in the first round of the OHSAA Tournament this Saturday at 5:30 pm at Sycamore HS. The annual Game of Home against Turpin raised $5,000 for Cancer Research and Awareness.
Milford’s Boys Basketball team has won 3 of their last 4 games and will travel to Withrow this Friday for the last regular season contest. The boys will play Withrow again in the first round of OHSAA Tournament at Lakota West High School at 8 pm on Saturday, February 25.
The Academic Team league tournament will be held at Turpin High School at 4 pm next Wednesday.
Athletic Update 1/12/17
Senior Jimmy Murphy was named the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Top Wrestler of the Week following his 100th and 101st wins against New Richmond. The Wrestling program will host the Milford Invitational on Saturday, January 28 beginning at 9:30 am.
The Girls Bowling team is tied for first place while the Boys are third in the conference standings. Jessica Haines, Josh Cooper and Noah Dolezal were named to the all-tournament team at the SWOC-ECC challenge earlier this month.
HOOPSfest, the annual fundraiser for Milford’s Boys Basketball program, is scheduled for Saturday, January 21.
Girls Basketball will hold their annual “Game of Home” at home against Turpin on Wednesday, January 25.
raising money and awareness for cancer research and the Lauren Hill Foundation.
Both the Cheer Squad and Dance Team will compete at the 2017 ECC Championships this Saturday, January 14 at 10 am and 1 pm at Walnut Hills HS.
Milford’s Swim/Dive Teams will host the Southwest Classic this weekend and ECC Championships next week, with Diving on Thursday, January 19 and Swimming on Saturday, January 21.
Athletic Update 12/15/16
Congrats to Sophomore Tyler Babinec who set a new Milford Swim record with a time of 57.63 in the 100 breaststroke! The previous record from 2007 was held by Elliott Keefer.
The Bowling teams are off to a strong start! The girls are 5 and 1 and tied for first place in ECC after beating Glen Este for the first time ever this week! Both teams participated in the Holiday Classic with 34 teams from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.
The Academic Team is 3 and 1 and also tied for first in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference following a big win over Walnut Hills this week!
Milford’s Cheer Squad earned both the National Champion Division and National Grand Champion titles last month. Their titles earned them an automatic bid to the Americheer InterNational Championship in Orlando, Florida this spring!
Milford’s Dance Team performed at a Cincinnati Cyclones hockey game earlier this month and the varsity squad continues to perform high-level routines at home basketball games.
The Wrestling season is just underway, and the Eagles placed 8th of 26 teams at the Edgewood Invitational. Milford is hosting Turpin tonight and will host the 16-team Milford Invitational on January 28.
Athletic Update 11/17/16
Six Milford athletes signed early to continue their athletic careers in college. Nathan Arnold (Men’s Golf-Wright State University), Skyler Fontaine (Women’s Water Polo-Mercyhurst University), Jack Hannah (Men’s Lacrosse-University of Denver), Matt Kirk (Baseball-Morehead State University), Kelsey Seitz (Softball-Trevecca Nazarene University) and Valerie Thompson (Softball-Tennessee State University). More signings are yet to be announced later this spring!
The Boys and Girls Basketball teams will host Eagle Madness at 7 pm this Friday. The event is free and will introduce all Junior High and High School boys and girls players, cheerleaders and dance team.
The Academic Team is participating in the Little Miami Academic Challenge tournament on Saturday November 19th. The team will compete with 23 other teams, some from as far away as Cleveland.
Milford’s Cheer Squad starts their competition schedule this Saturday at the Scarlet and Grey Cheerleading championships in Columbus. They recently performed for the New Taipei goodbye dinner.
The Wrestling team held a youth clinic earlier this month and will start competing in early December.
Senior Nathan Arnold has been recognized as the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Boys Golfer of the Year!
Athletic Update 10/20/16
The Girls Soccer team earned a bye in the first round of the OHSAA Sectionals, and will play at home against Sycamore on Saturday October 22nd at 7:00. Over 34 girls soccer players and 4 coaches recently participated in the Out of the Darkness walk at Sawyer Point sponsored by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The Boys Soccer team won their first round tournament game against Moeller, 1-0, and they are playing again tonight at Hamilton!
Milford’s Boys and Girls Cross Country will run this weekend at the District Championships on Saturday at Voice of America Park in West Chester.
The Milford Girls Water Polo team heads to the state championship as the #3 seed. The Eagles will battle the 2015 state runner-up, Sycamore, on Friday at Princeton High School. The Boys Water Polo team will head to their state championship beginning on October 28th.
Junior Amanda Reinhart of Girls Tennis had an outstanding season. She won the first singles Flight C title at the Coaches’ Classic, was runner-up at both the ECC and Sectional tournament, and advanced to the second round of the District tournament before losing to the defending State Champion.
Senior Boys Golfers Nathan Arnold and Aaron Wade ended their outstanding golf careers by competing in the OHSAA District Tournament last week.
Milford’s Football Team recently beat Walnut Hills to start the homecoming weekend activities and Chase Witte was a finalist for the Varsity Views National Player of the Week award.
Athletic Update 9/15/16
The Girls Soccer team recently beat Mason for the first time since the 2011 season. The Lady Eagles have now won 3 of their last 4 games, including 2 against top 10 teams in city, and are currently ranked 8th in Division 1!
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams are hosting the Milford Invite on Saturday September 17th at Valley View Nature Preserve next to Pattison Elem. Over 1600 runners will be competing starting at 9 am.
Milford’s Girls Golf varsity team is 5-1 and still undefeated in the ECC! The girls golf ECC Tournament is set for September 22nd and the last league match with Loveland will be on September 27th.
Milford Boys Golf is ranked 6th in the Division 1 city standings and is also undefeated in league play. The Eagles will compete in the boys’ golf postseason ECC tournament on September 29th.

Channel 5 will be at Milford for the Blitz 5 tailgate broadcast on Friday, September 23rd when Milford hosts Loveland! The Eagles are currently ranked 11th in the Division 1 city standings.

Boys Soccer kicks off their season at Lakota East on Thursday August 25th.
The Girls Soccer team opens the season this Saturday August 20th at 4:00 pm vs. Lebanon at Eagle Stadium.
Boys and Girls Cross Country travel to Voice of America Park on Saturday August 27th for the Lakota East Invitational.
Boys Golf – The defending conference champs are off to another great start, winning the annual Eastern Cincinnati Conference preseason tournament. Nathan Arnold shot a 72 to win medalist honors.
The Girls Golf team took second place in the ECC opening tournament last Thursday with a score of 398. The ladies were led by Casey Broxterman with a score of 90.

The Water Polo teams enjoyed a competitive weekend of water polo at the Napoleon tournament last weekend.

Athletic Update 6/16/16
The Baseball team’s thrilling spring ended at the OHSAA Regionals. The 2016 season included a share of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship, a district crown, regional runner-up and a final record of 28-3. Senior Brad Hall was named the ECC’s Player of the Year for the second straight season and was selected first team All-Ohio. Wes Reid was also a first team All-ECC selection and second team All-Ohio.
Girls Track: Clare Cartheuser was selected first team All-ECC for the second consecutive year and ended an exceptional MHS career holding the school discus record at 133 feet 6 inches. Cartheuser concluded her senior year with an eighth place finish in Ohio at the 2016 OHSAA Division I State Track and Field Meet!
Milford’s 4×100 meter relay team of juniors Lauryn Knarr and Lindsey Lawson, sophomore Emma Netzel and freshman Andrea Armstrong set a new school record in the event for the fourth time this season with a time of 49.99 seconds. They finished 7th in the regional finals to conclude their record-breaking season.
The Boys Lacrosse team completed a successful final season as a club and will transition to varsity school sport next spring along with the girls. 2016 highlights included a 14-4 overall record, a 12 game winning streak, and 7 players named All-Region with Jack Hannah being selected for the All-State and US Lacrosse All-American teams!
Athletic Update 5/19/16
Baseball is playing in the OHSAA Sectional Finals tonight as the #1 seeded Eagles face #7 Lakota East at Harrison High School. The Eagles are 25-2 overall, have won their last 8 games and just completed their 5th league championship in a row!
The Softball team finished their season ranked #2 in the city with an overall record of 21-4 and 14-0 in league play. The Lady Eagles captured their third consecutive ECC championship! Milford is proud to have such amazing softball and baseball teams – congratulations!

Senior Clare Cartheuser’s discus throw of 133 feet 6 inches earned her the Eastern Cincinnati Conference championship and set a new school record for the third time this season.
The 4×100 girls relay team comprised of juniors Lauryn Knarr and Lindsey Lawson, sophomore Emma Netzel, and freshman Andrea Armstrong also set a new school record at the District Track/Field Championships last night with a time of 50.31 seconds.
The Boys Lacrosse team crushed LaSalle last night 16-5 in OHSLA tournament play. The boys will next face Moeller on Friday night at 6:00 pm.

Athletic Update 4/21/16
Congratulations to Baseball coach Tom Kilgore who recorded his 300th career victory as the Milford head coach. Since 1999 Coach Kilgore has led the Eagles to eight conference championships and two state runner-up finishes. Our 2016 varsity baseball team is 13-1 overall, 7-1 in the ECC and currently ranked #1 in the city.
The Softball team continues their quest for a third ECC championship in a row! Ranked #4 in the city, the Lady Eagles are 11-2 overall, 8-0 in the conference and in first place in the ECC.
Boys Tennis got off to a strong start this year winning 3 of their first 5 matches. The boys face Moeller at home on Friday @ 4:00.
The Boys Lacrosse team is currently 6-2 and recently beat regional power Mariemont for the first time. Other key victories this season have included wins over Elder and ECC rivals Turpin and Anderson.
Boys Volleyball looks to gain momentum after their recent 3-0 victory over Middletown. Their next home game is May 2, Senior Night, vs. West Clermont.
Boys and Girls Track will host the Milford Invitational Wednesday April 27th on Bill Marran Track at Eagle Stadium.

Athletic Update 3/17/16
Boys Swim/Dive: Freshman Tyler Babinec made history by becoming the first-ever Milford swimmer to capture a district championship in any event. Tyler placed 13th in the 100 breaststroke and 21st in 50 freestyle at the OHSAA Division I Swimming Championships. Diver Joel Adams won the 2016 ECC Diving Championship in addition to qualifying for districts for the second straight year.
The Boys Bowling team finished the season 12-6 overall and 10-4 in the ECC. The team placed a highest-ever second in the OHSAA Sectional Bowling Tournament where they set a new school record knocking over 4190 total pins to advance to the District Tournament.
Girls Bowling finished the season 15-3 overall and 12-2 to finish second in the ECC. The team placed sixth in the OHSAA Sectional Bowling Tournament to earn a trip to the Districts. This is the first time in school history that both boys and girls bowling programs have advanced as a team to Districts in the same year.
Wrestling: Six members of the Milford wrestling team have been selected for All-ECC honors, the most since the inception of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. Jimmy Murphy, a junior, and freshman Kobey Bronaugh both qualified for the OHSAA District tournament in their respective weight classes.
The Boys Basketball team finished with a 14-9 final record and posted their 10th consecutive winning season.
Girls Basketball finished the season with 18 wins, the most since 1997, and advanced to the OHSAA Sectional Finals.
Athletic Update 2/18/16
The 10th seeded Girls Basketball team overcame a 13-point deficit and defeated 9th seeded Turpin 42-40 last night in OHSAA Tournament action! The Lady Eagles have achieved 18 victories so far this season, the most for girls basketball since 1997. Milford will now play #6 McAuley at Sycamore in the OHSAA District Semi-Finals on Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
The Boys Basketball team was awarded the 12th seed in the OHSAA Tournament and will open play against Middletown on Friday. The game will tip off at 6:00 p.m. at Lakota West High School.
Boys Bowling finished 2nd in the South Sectional at Crossgate Lanes yesterday and advanced to Districts in Dayton next week. Along with setting a new boy’s record with 4190 total pins, this was the highest finish ever for a Milford boys bowling team. The Eagles were led by junior Noah Dolezal who set a new three game series record knocking over 711 pins.
Girls Bowling also advanced to Districts today at Crossgate Lanes finishing 6th overall! The Lady Eagles pin total of 3268 was led by Sarah Schmidtgesling who rolled a three game series high of 525.
Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Swim Teams who advanced 6 relays and 4 individuals to District Championships! The OHSAA District swim competition is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20 at Miami University.
The Milford Wrestling team will compete this weekend in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament at Lebanon High School. Start times are 5:00 pm Friday and 9:30 am Saturday. Congratulations to Jimmy Murphy who recently won the ECC 132 lb weight class championship! Jimmy is the first Eagles wrestler to win an ECC weight class title!
Congratulations to the Milford Cheerleading squad for capturing the 2016 ECC Championship at the 2nd Annual ECC Cheer and Dance Competition! Based on their cheer and game day performances, the judges awarded Milford the 1st place title overall! Milford’s Dance Team also performed well at the ECC Championships and placed 2nd overall following their jazz and hip hop routines.
Athletic Update 1/21/16
Girls Basketball defeated Withrow last Saturday and improved to 12-4 overall, continuing to add on to their season win total. The girls are at McNich this evening for a 7:30 tip-off.
The Boys Basketball team also defeated Withrow on Tuesday to improve their overall record to 10-5. The boys play again tomorrow at 7:30 at Loveland.
Boys and Girls Bowling: Congratulations to girls bowler Jessica Haines who set a new Milford record for both a single game and three game series with scores of 269 and 591. And, congratulations to Noah Dolezal who set a new Milford Boys Bowling record with a three game series score of 671. Both bowling teams maintained their hold on third place in the ECC with victories over Walnut Hills. The team’s next home match is Wednesday January 27 vs. Withrow.
The Boys Swim team qualified as second alternate in the 400 freestyle relay at the 3rd annual Southwest Classic. Tyler Babinec qualified for finals in the 50 free, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. Tyler finished 7th in the 50 free.
The Girls Swim team had a successful weekend at the Southwest Classic posting “best” personal times in all relay events. The ECC tournament for boys and girls swimming is scheduled for this Saturday at Anderson High School at 1 pm.
Wrestling: At last week’s Senior Night, Milford defeated both Indian Hill 58-6 and Amelia 51-18. The Eagles won 17 of 19 matches and all active seniors finished with double wins! This Saturday the team travels to Mason to compete in the James V. Horning Memorial Tournament – start time is 9:00 am.
The Dance Team claimed a championship at the AmeriDance Dance Classic Series on January 16th at Mt. Notre Dame High School. The Eagles placed first in the Hip Hop division!
In this midst of the winter season, our annual program reviews for the fall season are also ongoing. We are looking at plans and initiatives to improve each of our programs from data and feedback. We will also be strategically evaluating our football program in particular by gathering tactical insight from outside sources to help in this process. Girls Basketball won their third straight contest defeating Kings 54-39. The Eagles are 7-2 overall. Saturday will be a matinee at Anderson High School with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Boys Basketball team is 4-2 overall, 3-1 in the conference and in second place in the ECC. The boys travel to first place Walnut Hills this Friday at 7:30.
The Girls Bowling team completed a back to back sweep on Monday and Tuesday over Turpin, and currently sits in second place in the ECC with a 4-2 conference record.
The Boys Bowling team also completed the sweep of Turpin and, along with the girls, will return to Eastgate Lanes to face Sycamore on January 6th.
Boys Swim started the 2015-16 on a strong note as the Eagles raced to a combined 35-1 win over both Glen Este and Amelia sweeping each of the relay events on the night. In the first invitational of the year, the Eagles placed a strong second out of 24 teams at the Mason Invitational.
Girls Swim vs. Amelia and Glen Este also featured a big Milford win as the Eagles were victorious 27-8. The girls also performed well at Mason, earning third place overall out of 23 participating teams.
Wrestling: The Eagles debuted their new mats at Milford High School in a home meet with the Loveland Tigers. The Grapplers will compete in the GMVWA Holiday tournament at the Nutter Center on December 28th and 29th.
Congratulations to the MHS Cheerleading squad! The girls took third place in the Varsity non-mount division at the Fourth Annual Cincinnati CHEER FOR A CURE Championship at Lakota West.
Athletic Update 11/19/15
Academic Team, Basketball, Bowling, Chess, Swimming/Diving, Cheer, Dance, Winter Guard, Winter Drumline and Wrestling/Pinnettes all begin winter practices and competitions over the next few weeks! Come on out and support our outstanding teams and clubs!!
Girls Basketball tips off their season this Friday at home vs. Winton Woods @ 7:30. The girls will also travel to Youngstown on December 11th to participate in the 4th Annual Hope Classic High School Basketball Showcase on the campus of Struthers High School.
The defending ECC Champion Boys Basketball team starts their season Saturday, November 28th at Sycamore High School @ 7:30.
After finishing second in the ECC last year, both the Girls and Boys Bowling teams have a great opportunity to compete for a conference championship this season with a total of seven returning starters. The home opener for both teams is Wednesday December 2nd at Eastgate Lanes vs. Anderson.
The first Boys and Girls Swim/Dive meet takes place at home on December 3rd vs. Glen Este @ 6:00.
Wrestling will start their season with a home meet vs. Loveland on Tuesday, December 8th @ 5:00.
Athletic Update 10/15/15
Boys Golf captured their second consecutive Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship! The Eagles won the ECC Tournament and the overall crown by just a half point. The boys took part in today’s Southwest District Championship as a team. Congratulations to Phil Sheldon, ECC Coach of the Year and Nathan Arnold, ECC Player of the Year.
Girls Golf: Abby Swensen also advanced and competed in today’s Southwest District Championship after placing seventh overall at Sectionals.
Girls Tennis: Sophomore Amanda Reinhart finished the season second in first singles at 15-2 overall and 4-2 in ECC play. Amanda’s season ended at the District Championships as she narrowly missed qualifying for the OHSAA Division I State Tennis Tournament.
The Girls Soccer team earned the #16 seed in the OHSAA Southwest District Sectional Tournament and will square off against conference rival Anderson in the first round. Milford will host the #22 seeded Redskins on Monday, Oct. 19.
Boys Soccer will also host an opening round tournament game on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The #16 seeded Eagles will face #23 Talawanda.
The Girls and Boys Cross Country teams will compete this Saturday @ 9:00 AM at the Valley View Nature Preserve for the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championships.
Boys Water Polo is ranked 6th going into the State tournament – the highest team ranking since 2011. The boys will play Friday, Oct. 30th at Mason High School.
Girls Water Polo is ranked 4th headed to the State tournament and they are looking to surpass their 4th place finish from last year. First match is Friday, Oct. 23rd @ Ohio Wesleyan University. The Milford Water Polo program recently hosted the biggest tournament in Milford’s history with 18 varsity teams and 36 games across a three day time span.
Girls Volleyball remains hot defeating league foe Loveland for their 6th consecutive win. The girls currently sit in 2nd place in the ECC standings and are looking forward to their Sectional game vs. Sycamore at Withrow on Tuesday, Oct. 20th.
Football – This Friday’s match-up between Milford and Turpin, which will also serve as the Eagles’ 2015 Senior Night, has been chosen for broadcast on the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel. The game will be played Friday at 7:30 p.m. with Senior Night Ceremonies beginning at 6 pm. The broadcast will be available on channel 311 that same evening at 11:30 p.m.
