Visioning process will help define future for our students

As we look to the future and the completion of the Master Facilities Plan (replace the Junior High School and finish renovating the un-renovated portions of the High School), a group of administrators, teachers, parents, community members, and school board members are going through a Visioning process – what does education look like for our students, to succeed in a global marketplace with technologies – and challenges – we can only dream of? How do we use our facilities to support the type and style of education needed as we prepare our students for this future?

This process will take place over the next few months. As information is gathered, we will be looking for additional community input. I hope you will help by responding to neighbors or friends who may ask your input about a concept … sharing your thoughts with your child’s teachers or administrators … participating in the Facebook group, Milford United for Our Schools, a group run by parents who want to support our schools (it’s open to anyone – search & join) … and continuing to read this blog and comment, either on the articles or via email directly to me.

This month, I’m including an article on the Maker Movement and Makerspaces – I’d love it if you’d read and provide your feedback!
