Below are highlights from the February 16, 2017 school board meeting:
- Geoff Pittman, a local attorney and former Mayor and Milford City Council member, was appointed as Chair of the Business Advisory Council (BAC) for 2017 and 2018. Mr. Pittman will be adding members to the BAC – if you have any interest, please contact him at gwp.atty @ fuse.net.
- Financials continue on track for the year. A donation of $11.2k for the Natatorium Sound System was accepted. This donation was comprised of funds from the Milford Athletic Boosters Club; the Milford Aquatics Program/Individual Private Donors; and the Milford Area Swim Team (MAST). We appreciate the support from all donors to help improve our facilities and programs!
- The board approved a Resolution to refund appr. $12 million in the 2007 Bond Series. The refunding will save taxpayers in the range of $1.5 million over the life of the bond.
- Registration for our fee-based all-day kindergarten has gone extremely well, with 2 schools hosting two all-day sections, and the other schools one each.
