Upcoming meetings on important topics

The district will be holding four important meetings in upcoming weeks.  Two of these will be community forums, designed specifically to gather input and feedback from community members; one will be a board work session, which is an informal meeting of the board.  It will also have a place for community members to share comments, but that is not the focus of the meeting.  The fourth meeting is the Business Advisory Council regular meeting, where the Council will be discussing issues re: Milford Main.  This meeting is open to the public, but there will be no public participation.

The meetings are listed below:

February 25, Business Advisory Council regular meeting, 4 pm, Board Office, 777 Garfield Ave:  The BAC will meet to continue discussion about Milford Main.  The public is welcome to attend to listen, but there will be no public participation.

March 3, Community Forum on Milford Main, 7 pm, Mulberry Elementary Auditeria:  This meeting is to gather public input about Milford Main.  BAC members, administrators and the board’s Buildings & Grounds Committee will facilitate.

March 10, Board Work Session for Seipelt site selection, 7 pm, Milford HS cafeteria:  This is an informal meeting of the school board, for board members to discuss information gathered by the construction team re: the new Seipelt.  It is a public meeting, as the board cannot meet to discuss district business privately, but it is a business meeting.  There will be an opportunity for public input.

March 19, Community Forum to discuss “New Academic Standards,” 7 pm, location TBA:  This meeting will be a presentation on the new academic standards, which include the Common Core standards (Math & English/Language Arts) and State standards (Social Studies & Science).  Public comments, questions and discussion are welcome.
